MARK H. YOUNG
about

Because I write my own material to direct, I have a very clear vision of what the project is going to look like. Storyboards are a great way to begin to think through scenes and look for visual opportunities.

However, I don't rely on them entirely; my objective is to be more serindipitous and organic on the set, and give the actors room to play. But if I get in trouble or run out of time, it's nice to have a game plan to fall back on. I also find it's a great way to communicate your vision to each department.

Here are some samples of storyboards for various films. Click on the image to view more.
